     Mary E. Flanders was born on 14 September 1854 at Palmyra, Maine.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Frederick Moses Flanders and Sarah A. Berry. Mary E. Flanders, Frederick and Sarah were both listed as deaf and dumb, appeared on the US Census of 1860 in the household of Frederick Moses Flanders and Sarah A. Berry at Palmyra, Maine.4,5

Mary E. Flanders, age 14, married Henry Orison Parkman, age 22 , son of Benjamin Fowler Parkman and Mary Higgins, on 18 April 1869 at Palmyra, Maine.6,7,8 Mary, age 15 years, and Henry, age 22 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Palmyra, Maine.9 Mary and Henry were divorced on 29 October 1872 at Penobscot County, Maine.10 At the time of her divorce, 1872, she was living in Palmyra, Maine.10

Mary E. Flanders, age 21, married Herbert J. Woodman, age 27 , son of Deacon Greenleaf H. Woodman and Dorothy E Dunham, on 18 September 1875 at Lawrence, Massachusetts.11,12,13,14 Mary, age 25 years, and Herbert, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at 45 Bartlette Street, Lewiston, Maine.15 Mary and Herbertmoved to Lowell, Massachusetts, circa 1884. About 1884, Herbert and Mary moved to Lowell, Massachusetts.3 Mary, age 45 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at 43 South Loring Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.1 According to the Federal Census in 1900, Mary was a widow. Mary, age 55 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at 43 South Loring Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.16 Sheappeared on the US Census of 1920 in the household of Harry Lincoln Woodman and Ruth Esther Ward at 422 Pine Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.17 Mary E. Flandersappeared on the US Census of 1930 in the household of Harry Lincoln Woodman and Ruth Esther Ward at 422 Pine Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.18 Mary E. Flandersappeared on the US Census of 1940 in the household of Harry Lincoln Woodman and Ruth Esther Ward at 422 Pine Street, Lowell, Massachusetts.19 Mary E. Flanders died on 5 February 1941 at 422 Pine Street, Lowell, Massachusetts, at age 86.2,3 She was buried on 8 February 1941 at Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Massachusetts, on Wilberforce Avenue.2,3
